DOCUMENTARY FILM PRODUCTION
Real stories, shaped with cinematic care.
Click & Frame is an Austin-based documentary production team creating short and feature documentaries for nonprofits, cultural organizations, artists, businesses, communities, and independent projects across Texas and beyond. We support each story from development and interviews through filming, editing, sound, color, and final delivery.
UPCOMING FEATURE DOCUMENTARY ON ADDICTION, TREATMENT & RECOVERY
Some stories need more than a quick video. They need time, trust, and a clear point of view. We create documentaries that stay with audiences long after the final frame.
SELECTED DOCUMENTARY WORK
-
What types of documentaries do you produce?
We create short and feature documentaries for nonprofits, cultural organizations, artists, businesses, communities, and independent projects.
Can you develop a documentary from an early idea?
Yes. We can help shape the concept, research, story direction, interview approach, production plan, and final format.
Do you provide full documentary production?
Yes. Services may include development, research, interviews, filming, editing, sound, color, music, captions, and final delivery.
How long does a documentary take to produce?
The timeline depends on the film’s length, research, locations, filming schedule, and post-production needs. We provide a clear production plan after learning more about the project.
How much does documentary production cost?
Costs depend on scope, filming days, travel, crew, archival materials, music, and final deliverables. After an initial conversation, we provide a detailed proposal and budget.
Do you work outside Austin?
Yes. Click & Frame is based in Austin and works on documentary projects across Texas, throughout the U.S., and beyond.
-
Do you help with documentary fundraising?
Yes. We can help shape the fundraising strategy, clarify the project’s financing needs, identify potential partners and funding opportunities, and prepare materials for outreach. While funding cannot be guaranteed, we can help present the project professionally and clearly.
Can you create a documentary pitch deck?
Yes. We can develop or refine a professional pitch deck that may include the logline, synopsis, director’s vision, visual approach, main characters, intended audience, impact and distribution strategy, production timeline, team, budget, and funding request.
Can you create a trailer or fundraising reel?
Yes. We can produce a trailer, teaser, or short fundraising reel using existing footage or newly filmed material. These assets can support meetings with funders, grant applications, crowdfunding, fiscal sponsorship, and industry outreach.
-
Can my documentary be submitted to film festivals?
Yes. We can prepare a festival-ready film and the supporting materials needed for submissions. Festival eligibility may depend on runtime, completion date, premiere status, and whether the film has already been released publicly.
Can you guarantee festival acceptance?
No production company can guarantee acceptance. We can help strengthen the film, identify appropriate festivals, and prepare professional submission materials, but programming decisions are made independently by each festival.
Can my documentary be distributed on streaming platforms?
Potentially. Streaming platforms, broadcasters, distributors, and educational outlets make their own acquisition decisions. We can help prepare the film and materials for distribution conversations, but placement cannot be guaranteed.
Can a documentary earn money?
A documentary may generate revenue through licensing, streaming, broadcast, educational sales, ticketed screenings, direct sales, or community partnerships. Revenue varies widely and cannot be guaranteed.
Should we release the film online before submitting to festivals?
Usually, it is better to establish the festival strategy first. Some festivals have premiere requirements or restrictions for films already available publicly online.
What materials are needed for festivals and distribution?
Materials may include a final master, captions or subtitles, trailer, synopsis, filmmaker statement, still images, poster artwork, press materials, and a DCP for theatrical screenings.
